Acupuncture works to help maintain your body's equilibrium. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of 'qi', your body's vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in some symptoms of pain and illness. In certain instances, traditional acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony.

Many people come to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or to relieve specific pains like osteoarthritis of the knee. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, or simply to improve their general sense of wellbeing.

As well as acupuncture, you may be offered moxibustion, cupping, auricular acupuncture, guasha (friction treatment), electro acupuncture, massage, as well as dietary advice, exercise and lifestyle advice. Martin Dean has been treating a wide range of injuries for over 12 years, and also lectures in clinical skills at the University of Lincoln. He is a fully qualified member of the British Acupuncture Council. Whatever sport you play, whatever your game, the Acupuncture Pain Clinic is the name to trust.

Please note that you are encouraged to take independent medical advice before contacting us.
